Yes, a guy can read and appreciate romance novels. Back in the day, my sister would devour Harlequin's by the dozen, and when I ran out of my latest scifi or fantasy series, I'd dip into her stash to tide me over until the next batch of my stuff arrived. Summer in Alaska is a good read, perfect to take with you to the beach, or on vacation in the mountains. The characters are well drawn, the locations are clearly established, and the story moves quickly, without lagging. On the other hand, there are some typical first novel issues, and in my opinion, the story could use a little more conflict. However, these are minor issues and shouldn't scare anybody off. If you're looking for a light romance to read, this one fits the bill nicely.

Donna has a way with words and with making you feel like you are actually living the role of the main character. I love it when an author can paint a picture in my mind. She has a true gift. 10/10 highly recommend!!
